Kris Vincent's cows don't care if his shirt is pink. The cattleman - and longtime Malone University facilities manager - was selected as one of the American Cancer Society's "Real Men Wear Pink," a campaign that gives men a leadership role in the fight against breast cancer. This Sunday, Malone University will again be the host of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk by the American Cancer Society, an event that brings thousands of people to Malone's campus to walk in honor of loved ones and raise money for a cure.

"I am embracing a bittersweet mix of purpose," said Vincent. "Celebrating survivorship while paying meaningful tribute to loved ones lost. Because of my supporters, we have been able to continue to invest in breakthrough research, provide free rides to chemo, free places to stay near treatment and a live, 24/7 cancer helpline for answers and support."

Malone became a host for the event last year, when the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) asked that the event be moved from the Canton City Parks near 12th Street because of road construction.

Vincent also is a lifetime resident of Osnaburg Township and a township trustee. He owns and operates Tri Pine Farm, a beef cattle farm, and has served at Malone since 1992. He is a member of Indian Run Christian Church.
