Sue Grabowski, chief executive officer of the Uniontown-based marketing communications firm Desidara, has been elected to the Malone University Board of Trustees. Grabowski, a 1991 graduate of Malone, was elected to a three-year term.

Grabowski established her firm in 1997 and has led it to sustainable success with clients throughout the United States including Northeast Ohio organizations such as Akron Children’s Hospital, TimkenSteel, The Timken Company, and Morgan Engineering. Prior to starting her firm, Grabowski served as a senior communications representative for Progressive Insurance, an account executive with Covington Communications, and associate editor for Babcox Publications.

“Malone has never been far from Sue’s heart,” said Malone President David King. “She is an extraordinary ambassador for the university and a great example of how our graduates are leaders in their professions and communities. I’m delighted to add her voice to our already strong board of trustees.”

Grabowski has given her time and talent to many community organizations such as Pathway Caring for Children, Women’s Impact Inc., Mobile Meals of Akron, and the Canton Ad Federation. She has been honored as the recipient of the American Advertising Federation’s Silver Medal award and the Business Excellence Award from the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce.

“Malone University changed my life,” said Grabowski. “I grew up eight blocks from the campus and now am doing things I never thought possible, like owning a business. I believe in giving back and am looking forward to the opportunity to serve my alma mater in this manner.”
