Nursing Schools Almanac, a web-based resource that provides rankings of U.S. nursing schools, recently selected Malone University as one of the top nursing schools in the United States.

Almanac staff gathered information from more than 3,200 institutions and selected just 10% of those colleges and universities to appear in their final listing. Schools were assessed based on three dimensions: academic prestige and perceived value; breadth and depth of the nursing program; and student success and outcomes, with weight placed on the first-time pass rate on the NCLEX exam.

Malone was just one of 11 Ohio institutions to be honored in the Great Lakes region which was defined as Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Other Northeast Ohio institutions honored were Case Western Reserve University and Ursuline College.

“We are obviously delighted that others recognize the strength of our nursing and health sciences program,” said Malone President David King. “Our nursing students benefit from outstanding facilities and clinical opportunities, work with nationally respected faculty, and are educated holistically, allowing them to provide a deeper level of care. We believe our graduates are better prepared for the rapidly changing health care industry. They graduate and get hired.”
