File Under: Outcomes

Malone University has been named by Money Magazine as one of the nation’s “Best colleges for your money.” The publication analyzed 2,400 institutions on 27 data points to select their "Best Colleges" schools.

To be considered for the designation, institutions had to enroll at least 500 students, have sufficient, reliable data to be analyzed, not be in financial distress, and have a graduation rate that is above the median for its institutional category (public or private).

The three categories of measures included:

  • Quality of education as measured by graduation rates, test scores of the entering class, student-faculty ratio, and financial measures.
  • Affordability as determined by the average debt of graduating seniors, net price of a degree determined by cost and financial aid availability, and the student loan default rate of graduates.
  • Outcomes reflected by average earnings of graduates and socio-economic mobility index results.

Money Magazine does a pretty thorough job of analyzing colleges on measures that are meaningful to students’ experiences,” said Malone University President David King. “The rankings speak to the value of the educational experience and how it creates positive outcomes for graduates. We’re pleased with the third-party endorsement of what we already know to be true: a Malone education is one of the best values in all of higher education.”
