Family Weekend October 13 & 14

Come join your Malone student for a weekend designed to give you a glimpse into university life! Activities for all ages are planned.

Older siblings (ages 8 and older recommended) are invited to spend the night in the residence hall with their Malone student. Registration with the Student Development Office is required. Malone students may register their visitor in person, or families may call 330.471.8273.

Friday, October 13

Registration is in the JOHNSON Center from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Pick up your tickets, schedule, and information.

All Day | Class Visits

Schedule of classes to visit will be on the Family Weekend website. To schedule a guided tour appointment for another son or daughter call 330-471-8145 or contact Malone Admissions.

8 a.m. to 8 p.m. | Visit the McFadden, Fountain and Malone Art Galleries

A Landscape and Nature photography exhibit by Bill Casto ’62 will be on display in the Fountain Gallery.
Johnson Center for Worship and the Fine Arts

10 a.m. | Homecoming Worship Service

Message by Curt Thompson ’85, M.D. The Malone University Chorale will minister in music and a Malone Worship Band will lead congregational singing. All alumni and parents will be recognized at the service.

11:30 a.m. | Lunch

The lunch buffet is $7.70 adults, $3.35 children ages 3 to 12 (includes tax.) Please note: Parent passes do not apply during Homecoming & Family Weekend. No reservation is needed, pay at the door. Malone students on the meal plan will use their ID.

2 – 3 p.m. | Malone University Music Pioneers Homecoming Recital

Refreshments will be served following the concert featuring students and alumni. 
Stewart Room, Barn/Randall Campus Center 

3 – 4 p.m. | Guided Campus Tour featuring the Bolder Vision Capital Campaign Sites

The campaign reflects our desire to anticipate and plan for the emerging academic, spiritual, and co-curricular needs of Malone students as we lean into the future with an exciting vision for Malone University's next 125 years.
Meet in Emma’s Place on lower level of the Barn/Randall Campus Center, Van tours available. 

4 – 5:30 p.m. | Art Exhibition Reception

View the breathtaking Landscape & Nature Photography Exhibit and meet photographer Bill Casto, a Malone graduate. Refreshments will be served.

4:30-6 p.m. | Dinner

Enjoy dinner with your students. The dinner buffet is $8.50 adults, $4.25 children ages 3 to 12 (includes tax.)  Please note: Parent passes do not apply during Homecoming & Family Weekend. No reservation is needed, pay at the door. Malone students on the meal plan will use their I.D.

7:30 p.m. | Outdoor Movie in the Quad - Moana

Bring a blanket and join us. We'll provide the popcorn.
In case of inclement weather, we will move to the East Campus Multipurpose Room

8 p.m. | Malone Theatre Fall Festival of Shorts

The Fall Festival will include one act plays. Productions will be student run and directed - sure to be an engaging and exciting evening.  Call 330-471-8202 for tickets or purchase them online. $10

9 – 10 a.m. | Aviso Alumni Reunion, Interviews & Photos

Parents and families are welcome to stop by and browse through hundreds of Aviso student newspapers from the past.

9 – 11 a.m. | Guided Tours of Malone Zoo Rooms

Visit the animals and observe their interaction with Malone’s ZOOM students.
Lower level, Timken Science Hall

10 a.m. – 12 noon | Homecoming Pioneer Brunch and Pioneer street fair activities

Enjoy a delicious brunch with carving and made-to-order stations in the Hoover Dining Commons. Brunch is $10 adults, $5 ages 3-12. Please note: Parent passes do not apply during Homecoming & Family Weekend.  Reservations are recommended and can be paid for ahead of the event to save time. Or you may pay at the door.

amily fun from 10 a.m. - 12 noon! COSI Science Spot kiosks, pony rides, mini-train rides, inflatables, mechanical bull, Vertical Rush Slide, bungee Hippo Chow Down, and Great Pumpkin Hunt - many activities for kids of all ages!

For resident alumni, drop in to see your old dorm again. Show your family where you spent your college days! All alumni may take this opportunity to visit with your future Pioneer Legacy Student too.

Cheer on the Pioneers at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, recently profiled as one of the "13 Game-Changing NFL Stadiums" by Forbes, it is a one-of-a-kind sports and entertainment complex! Be sure to register at the Malone tent for the chance to win a Malone U hoodie. Prizes will be awarded at the beginning of the third quarter of play. Shop at the Malone Campus Store booth.

A delicious Hawaiian themed meal, photo spots, hula lessons, and games for the whole family - Hawaiian shirt contest,  limbo contests, hula lessons, coconut bowling, flamingo ring toss, and a sand treasure hunt for the kids.
