Homecoming and Family Weekend
October 6 - 8, 2016

Homecoming and Family Weekend is especially planned for you to get a taste of campus life with your Malone University student. We hope you will join activities planned for all ages as we celebrate our 125th year.

Thursday, October 6

Time Event
7 p.m. 125 Year Forum: Transforming Communities through Leadership,
Entrepreneurship, the Arts, and Social Justice Panel Discussion followed by Q & A session. See panel participants and bios
Johnson Center Chapel
8:30 p.m. Dessert reception with Forum Panelists, alumni and parents. Johnson Center Lobby    

Friday, October 7

All day: Parents and siblings age 12 and older may visit classes. Please check the list of classes open to visitors. The whole family is invited to visit the faculty scholarship display in the Cattell Library, check out the deals in the Campus Store, cheer on Pioneer athletes, and visit the 125 Year photo spots, displays and our beautiful art galleries.

10:05 a.m. Homecoming Worship Service: Speaker is Keith Cureton '85, VP at UPS featuring the Malone University Chorale and Worship Band. Families are welcome. Worship Center, Johnson Center
11 a.m. Transforming Communities Forum: Panel Discussion #2

1:30 p.m. Pioneer Women’s Soccer vs. Trevecca Nazarene Pioneer Soccer Field
2-3 p.m.  Malone University Music Pioneers Homecoming Recital 
Be sure to come early, as seating is limited. Refreshments will be served following the concert in Bennett Lounge. 
Stewart Room, Barn/Randall Campus Center
3 - 4 p.m. 125 Years: Guided Campus Tour featuring both Malone’s campus today and special historical exhibits from the past. Bring your phone or camera for the 125 Years photo spots on campus. Meet at Emma's in the Barn/Randall Campus Center
4 p.m. Pioneer Men's Soccer vs. Trevecca Nazarene Pioneer Soccer Field
6 p.m. Pioneer 125: Rich Heritage, Bold Future Banquet - Honoring returning Malone presidents, trustees, our 2016 Alumni Award Recipients and past award winners. Johnson Center Dining Room 


Saturday, October 8

All day: Check out the Campus Store, cheer on Pioneer athletes, and visit the Faculty Scholarship Display and historical exhibits in the Cattell Library and photo spots and art galleries around campus.

8:30 a.m. Open to the public! Malone 5k Pump & Run: Overall and age group prizes, t-shirts, and MU giveaways. Tickets to Professor Wylde's Animal Show available free to participants who register by 9/23.  Osborne Hall
8 a.m.- 1 p.m.  Homecoming Registration: Pick up your schedule, tickets and Pioneer Passport. Brehme Centennial Center Lobby
10 a.m.- 12 noon Guided Tours of Malone Zoo Rooms: You’ll have fun visiting the animals and help Malone’s ZOOM students by providing an opportunity to show off the animals and share what they are learning. Win, win! Timken Science Hall, Lower Level
10 a.m. - 12 noon Flag Football Tournament: Drop by the Quad to watch alumni and student teams compete for cash prizes.  Quad between Blossom, Regula and Heritage Halls
10 a.m. -2 noon Open House in Residence Halls: Time to visit with your Malone student at their home away from home. Residence Halls
11 a.m. Professor Wylde Animal Show presented by Cleveland Metroparks Zoo
This is a free event but you must reserve tickets as seating is limited. You will enjoy this fun and educational show featuring live animals.
East Campus, corner of 25th St and Harvard Ave.
11 a.m. - 1 p.m.  Tailgate Lunch, Pioneer Street Fair & Pioneers Play Area:
Enjoy a delicious lunch in the Hoover Dining Commons, then visit the Alumni and Parent vendors and the Inflatables, Pony Rides, Great Pumpkin Hunt and more for kids of all ages!  
Brehme Centennial Center and Hoover Courtyard
2 p.m. Pioneer Football vs. Alderson Broaddus: Visit the alumni and families hospitality tent and cheer on the Pioneers. The Homecoming Court will be presented and King and Queen crowned at halftime. We will honor the 2006 National Champion Pioneer Baseball Team on their 10th anniversary. GlenOak High School
5 p.m. Ox Roast and Live Music: A delicious ox roast with all the trimmings and live musical entertainment. Outdoors weather permitting; rain location Brehme Centennial Center.  Hoover Courtyard

Siblings Visit Overnight

Older siblings are invited to spend the night in the residence hall with their Malone student, but must be registered with the Office of Student Development. Malone students may register them in person or families may call 330-471-8273.

*Complete Your 125 Year Passport

Visit exhibits, photo spots and galleries around campus for stamps to put in your 125 Years passport. When you complete your passport, have it checked at the registration table. Your name will be entered into a drawing to win Malone gear and prizes.

Malone Campus Store Hours

Thursday and Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Look for Homecoming and Family Weekend sales throughout the store.

Art Galleries and Displays

Visit the McFadden, Fountain and Malone Art Gallery in the Johnson Center on Friday and Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
