To create an asset that will forever transform the experience for the students of Malone University, as well as the entire Canton regional community.
Pioneer Park will help to drive increased enrollment opportunities, provide a unique venue for competition, recreation, and entertainment for both students and the community, and will support economic development opportunities in the Canton region.
The student experience for Malone students will be transformed by offering modern and attractive outdoor spaces for recreation, club sports, intramurals, and intercollegiate practices and competitions, as well as career development opportunities through management and operational experiences.
About Pioneer Park
Lighted synthetic turf fields will enable members of the Malone community to use the field space longer into the changing seasons of Northeast Ohio and extend the day for night activities. The fields and surrounding amenities of the park will provide Malone with an enormous recruiting advantage for all students and adds an additional gathering place for members of the community. As an NCAA Div. II institution, Malone will be able to offer outdoor athletic facilities that are among the most highly regarded in the nation. Pioneer Park will provide Malone with a tremendous recruiting advantage when competing for the best student-athletes in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference and against institutions in Northeast Ohio.
Pioneer Park also provides several new and significant revenue streams as Malone can now serve as host for sports camps, band camps, tournaments, and Ohio High School Athletic Association playoff competition. A resource for all of Stark County, Pioneer Park will extend Malone's reputation for being a contributor to the betterment of life in the region.
In addition, Pioneer Park will serve as a living laboratory of practical experience for Malone University students. Students will gain practicum experience in business management & operations, promotions & marketing, as well as event management & logistics of the Park through academic program partnering.
