  • 8-10 a.m. - Continental Breakfast (Johnson Center Dining Hall)
  • 8-10 a.m.. - Resident Student Check-In (Johnson Center)
  • 10 a.m. Commuter Student Check-In (Johnson Center)
  • 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. - Lunch (Use the ticket you receive at check in for time and location)
  • 12 noon -  Commuter Meeting (The Johnson Center Memorial Chapel)
  • 1:30 p.m. - Welcome Service for New Students & Families (Johnson Center Worship Center)
  • 2:15 p.m. - Farewell to Family & Friends 
  • 2:45-4:45 p.m. - Students meet their College Experience Class (Gen 100) in the Quad and an "Information Fair" will be available for parents in the Johnson Center Dining Room.  (Quad)
  • 5-6:30 p.m - Dinner (Hoover Dining Commons)
  • 6:30-8:30 p.m. - New Student Group Picture (Intramural Field) and New Student Olympics (Intramural Field)

  • 12 noon.  Depart campus for Transfer Fun Trips (you'll have three options and will have signed up on Thursday.)
  • 5-6:30 p.m. Return for dinner in the dining hall (Student I.D. Needed)

The Campus Bookstore will also be open for the purchasing of textbooks. A hospitality tent in the Hoover Courtyard will be open all affternoon.

What to Bring

The following list was developed to help you as you as you prepare for life in Malone's residence halls. It's a good idea to wait until you have moved in and see what you really need before you bring or buy everything on the list.

We also strongly encourage you to talk to your roommate(s) as you determine what to pack or buy. Many items such as a couch, television, refrigerator, etc, can be shared.

Things you should bring...

              Students should only use wireless/cordless telephones that are DEC 6.0 compliant in  residence hall rooms. This is the best and only way to assure that the phone does not interact with the wireless access points that are or will be located in the residence halls. (It should state right on the box they purchase the phone in whether it is DECT 6.0 compliant). It will say this on the box when the student purchases them from the store.
