Program Distinctives
L.A. Film Studies Center
This program directly introduces students to life and work in Los Angeles by connecting them with industry professionals. LAFSC provides opportunities to pursue interests in a safe and encouraging environment for exploring art, faith, and filmmaking. A number of our alumni are thriving, currently making films in the area.
The Malone Art Gallery (MAG) showcases student expertise
Our campus art gallery provides students with a setting to view professional works as well as display their own art. The gallery showcases four exhibitions a year, with one Senior Portfolio Exhibition at the end of the spring semester. The MAG strives to bring contemporary art, both local and national, to the Malone community to expand our students’ ability to access fine art.
Digital Arts Internship Opportunities
Our location in Canton, Ohio, and its close proximity to Cleveland and Akron, provides ample opportunities for internships and experiences.
Our students have interned at a variety of interesting locations, including:
- Akron Rubber Ducks (videography)
- Canton First Friends Church (social media and graphics)
- Mirabel Productions (digital arts)
- Grace Church (media and videography)

Digital Arts Minors
Have you chosen another major but want to enhance your studies with a digital arts minor? You can do that at Malone!
Supplement the creative design and production skills gained through your digital arts major with a minor in a complementary field. Some possible options are listed below:
Communication Arts minor
Immerse yourself in the field of communications in our program that develops skills for group and interpersonal interaction, writing, and public speaking in mediated contexts. This will help you build your capacity to empathize with others in intentional and meaningful ways.
Creative Writing minor
Engage in a full range of literary endeavors including creating poetry, stories, and essays while you learn to manage the editing, designing, and publishing of online and print materials. These skills pair perfectly with developing creative design and production concepts.
Professional Writing and Editing minor
Experience a variety of hands-on learning opportunities that help you hone your creativity as a writer in professional settings. These skills pair perfectly with developing professional design and production concepts.
