As you hone your skills as a writer, we recognize that every writer’s journey is unique. Our goal is to provide mentorship on your journey toward achieving your career aspirations across industry settings. We do this by giving you a 30,000 foot view of various authors who explore themes of faith, and help you find your writing voice so that you can apply it to God’s calling on your life.

Compete in our annual Malone Writer’s Prize contest

The Malone Writers Prize is an annual creative writing contest that’s open to all Malone undergrads. Each spring, students submit creative works in fiction, nonfiction, or poetry. A panel of outside judges reads and evaluates the submissions and selects up to three winners in each category.

Engage with professional writers at Malone’s Writer Series events

Each semester, Malone hosts contemporary authors on campus for students to engage in their work and ask questions regarding their professional careers. The Writer’s Series event typically consists of a writing masterclass with a reading and discussion panel from the visiting author to follow.

Professional writing internship experience is readily available to students
