Spring 2026 Commencement at Malone University
Commencement at Malone is the highlight of our year. Two graduation ceremonies occur to celebrate students from all four academic divisions. Both services will be ticketed, with a limited quantity provided per graduate for families. Students with multiple majors who are eligible to walk in both ceremonies are welcome to do so, but will receive tickets for only one ceremony. It’s important that all graduates and families coordinate which ceremony to attend in advance!
10 a.m. ceremony: Division A and Division B
2 p.m. ceremony: Division C and Division D

Dr. Curt Thompson ’84, M.D.
Psychiatrist, Speaker, and Author
Curt Thompson ’84, M.D., is a board certified psychiatrist, author, speaker, and co-host of The Being Known Podcast. He has been in private practice for more than 30 years in Falls Church, Virginia, graduated from Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine, and completed his psychiatric residency at Temple University Hospital. He strives to help patients develop flourishing lives by telling their stories more truly, in order to become more deeply known, for the purpose of creating beauty and goodness in the world. With conviction and humor, he trains clinicians and speaks at workshops, retreats and conferences, integrating neuroscience, human relationships, and Christian faith. He and his wife, Phyllis, are the parents of two adult children and live in northern Virginia.

Frequently Asked Questions about Commencement
Where will I park?
Please enter campus through the Cleveland Avenue entrance; all others will be closed. Students should park in the Centennial Center lot and arrive at the Johnson Center by 8:30 a.m. for the 10 a.m. ceremony or 1 p.m. for the 2 p.m. ceremony. Guest seating opens at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Guests with special parking needs must display a valid handicap permit; all others will be directed to general parking.
Is there seating for people with special needs?
Yes. Accessible seating is available in the Worship Center, and an usher can assist you before the ceremonies. You may also ask parking attendants for directions to the Johnson Center side-door drop-off. Someone will remain with your guest at the main entrance while you park, and parking is located a short distance from the event.
Can I photograph or take video of Commencement?
Yes, all cameras are welcome! For courtesy, we ask that you stay seated and avoid blocking others’ views. A professional photographer will also capture each graduate on stage, and those photos will be available for purchase about a week after the ceremonies.
Are tickets required to attend the Commencement ceremonies?
Yes, Each graduate can reserve a limited number of tickets online for family and friends. Please note that tickets cannot be reserved on Commencement day either online or at the door, and guests in attendance without a ticket will be seated in the overflow located in the Johnson Center, where a livestream will be available. Family and friends may also watch remotely via livestream available at https://malone.edu/livestream/
