The Malone Fund
Unrestricted giving through The Malone Fund is our most useful and flexible way to support our students. Contributions to the Malone Fund support student financial aid and provide instructional supplies, library acquisitions, salaries, laboratory equipment, and cutting-edge technology. All of these play a huge role in helping Malone successfully compete for talented students and empowering those students to compete for successful employment.

Scholarships
At Malone, one way our legacy of excellence is preserved is through generous scholarships established in honor of exceptional members of our community. These funds support students across various disciplines, from accounting and nursing to social sciences and athletics, enabling them to pursue their academic and professional goals while growing in their walks with Christ.
The 5k Club
Malone University’s Student Food Pantry is a resource available to all students—undergraduate, graduate, resident, commuter, traditional, and non-traditional—providing free access to necessities such as food, drinks, and toiletries. This initiative reflects the University’s commitment to fostering a supportive community where no student has to go hungry.
Albert H. Smith Accounting Endowed Scholarship
The Albert H. Smith Accounting Endowed Scholarship honors Bert Smith’s 37-year legacy of integrating Christian faith with the discipline of accounting in the Malone classroom. Contributions to this scholarship provide financial support to accounting students, enabling them to pursue their education and embody the principles of truth and stewardship that Bert championed.
Elizabeth A. Rettew Endowed Scholarship for Nursing Students
This endowed scholarship was established by colleagues, friends, and family to honor Beth Rettew’s legacy and her impact on Malone students. Funds will be awarded to Malone students who closely embody the ideals and dedication to the field of nursing that Beth shared so graciously with her students and her colleagues.
International Student Gift Scholarship
The International Student Gift Scholarship supports international students experiencing extenuating financial circumstances.
Jack Hazen Endowed Scholarship
The Jack Hazen Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by alumni and friends to honor Coach Jack Hazen’s 50 years of dedicated service to Malone University. Each year, it provides financial assistance to one male and one female student-athlete in cross country or track, recognizing Coach Hazen’s enduring impact on the Malone athletics community.
Jane Hoyt-Oliver Social Work Stipend Fund
The Jane Hoyt-Oliver Social Work Stipend Fund provides financial support to social work students during their field placements, honoring Dr. Hoyt-Oliver’s legacy of compassionate care at Malone. These stipends alleviate financial burdens, allowing students to fully engage in their vocational calling and serve communities with empathy and dedication.
The Millard and Thelma Niver Scholarship
The Millard & Thelma Niver Scholarship at Malone honors Dr. Millard Niver’s nearly 30-year tenure as a professor of mathematics and computer science, as well as his service as head wrestling coach. This endowed fund provides scholarships to students pursuing studies in computer science, data analytics, and cybersecurity, with the goal of expanding support for future generations of tech-driven servant leaders.
Malone Music Patrons Endowed Scholarship
The Malone Music Patrons Endowed Scholarship supports the development of future musicians, educators, and composers by making a Christ-centered music education more accessible. Donor contributions help ensure that students can pursue their musical callings while upholding the values of faith and excellence at Malone University.
Nathan Albury Memorial Gift Scholarship
The Nathan Albury Memorial Scholarship was created in memory of Nathan Albury, a 2014 Malone University graduate, to provide financial assistance to one or more Malone students, with a financial need, who are from New Philadelphia High School or Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School in New Philadelphia, Ohio and maintain an overall grade point average of 3.0.
Rokina Professional Development Scholarship
The Rokina Professional Development Gift Scholarship is established by Dr. Emily Mupinga in honor of her mother, Rokina, to provide financial support to graduate counseling students who are persons of color and would like to strengthen their identity with their profession through conferences, seminars, etc.
Servant Leadership Scholarship
The Servant Leadership Scholarship at Malone supports students who embody the Institution’s mission by engaging in volunteer service and demonstrating leadership. An endowment established by an anonymous donor couple, the scholarship aims to alleviate financial burdens, allowing recipients to focus more on service rather than employment.
James H. Stuckey Memorial Scholarship
The James H. Stuckey Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of Dr. James H. Stuckey, an influential professor of history who significantly contributed to the development of the University’s social sciences programs. This scholarship supports incoming and current students majoring in Integrated Social Studies, History, or Political Science who demonstrate strong academic achievement, a commitment to faith, and a passion for the social sciences.
