Academic Excellence

Malone University is enhancing their academic program offerings in order to strengthen career readiness across curriculum. These programs will equip students with the skills and experiences needed to thrive in their chosen professions through a Christ-centered education.

“As we develop and launch new programs, we are intentionally responding to marketplace demands in ways that intersect with our distinct Christian mission,” said Christina Schnyders, Ph.D., LPCC-S, provost. “These programs embody our commitment to prepare graduates who are equipped and empowered to serve the church, community, and world.”

These programs include:

Accelerated BSN

The accelerated bachelor of science in nursing track allows qualified students to complete the degree in as few as five semesters. The program maintains the same rigorous curriculum as Malone’s traditional track, while offering direct admission, strong support services, early access to clinicals, and an outstanding record of NCLEX pass rates.

Criminal and Restorative Justice + Akron Law 3+3 program:

Start law school sooner with the Criminal and Restorative Justice + Akron Law 3+3 program! In this pathway, students complete their major and general education in three years, then transition to the University of Akron School of Law during year four. This option allows students to finish their bachelor’s degree while beginning their JD—saving both time and tuition, and preparing them to make a meaningful impact through justice and restoration.

Entrepreneurship

The entrepreneurship major prepares ethical leaders to lead with integrity and innovation to positively impact Christ’s Kingdom. The curriculum emphasizes creativity, resource stewardship, and ethical decision-making, equipping graduates for leadership roles in tracks such as small business, technology, and church planting.

Environmental Science

This environmental science program prepares students to address today’s environmental challenges through a combination of scientific study, policy training, and ethical reflection. With hands-on learning in local ecosystems, internships, and field research, students gain practical experience alongside their coursework. Graduates are equipped for careers in areas such as wildlife biology, environmental consulting, sustainability, or education.

Mandarin Practical Ministry Certificate

Now offered fully online in Mandarin, the practical ministry certificate is a 18-month certificate program that equips individuals who feel called to ministry with practical skills and hands-on experience via courses and internships. It includes nine courses plus internships, and meets the educational requirements for ordination in the Evangelical Friends Church — Eastern Region. Designed to be affordable and accessible, it’s ideal for those starting in ministry, shifting into a ministry role, or wanting formal preparation for service in a variety of ministry settings.

Welding

Malone’s hybrid B.A. in business administration with a concentration in the trades (welding) offers a unique educational pathway integrating hands-on vocational training with a comprehensive liberal arts education (including an opportunity to participate in NCAA Div II athletics if the student so chooses). Developed in collaboration with regional industry partners, this program prepares students for immediate employment in manufacturing and construction sectors, covering roles such as fabrication, welding, inspection, repair, and management. Additionally, the curriculum incorporates preparation for The American Welding Society certification, equipping graduates with both technical skills and ethical business acumen to excel in the trades industry.
