Mascot Auditions

Your 90 second video must include the following four elements. Please attach it below.
The submission deadline is Friday, April 17 at noon.

• The Silent Hype (15 seconds): Give us your best, most energetic entrance without making a sound. How do you get a quiet room fired up using only your body language?
• The Scenario Test (30 seconds): Again, without speaking, act out how Maxamoose would react to these two specific event-day situations:
  • Scenario A: A Malone athlete just hit a game-winning, buzzer-beating shot!
  • Scenario B: You spot a shy kid in the crowd who looks a little nervous to give you a high-five. How do you win them over?
• The Signature Move (15 seconds): Show us a signature dance move, strut, or celebratory action that you think perfectly fits the Maxamoose persona.
• The Pitch (30 seconds): Now it’s time to speak directly to the camera and tell us who you are, why you love and want to represent Malone, and what makes you the perfect fit for this role.

What happens next: 

• Applications will be reviewed during the week of April 20. The top four finalists will be selected and notified by the end of the day on Friday, April 24. 
• Finalists will audition with a live crowd on Commencement Day (Saturday, May 9) wearing the current J.W. Scout costume so they can experience wearing a mascot suit. 
• Up to two students will be chosen to be the next Maxamoose and we will text you during the week of May 11 to let you know the final result. 
• Mascots for the 2026-27 academic year will receive a $250 book stipend for each semester.
