Program Distinctives

Exploration of western and non-western traditions

Our program provides a balanced perspective for you to explore the breadth of human history by studying the cultures of Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and other indigenous populations. By examining events, ideas, and movements from multiple perspectives, you will gain a more nuanced understanding of how different societies have shaped the modern world.

Emphasis on reading and writing skills

An important piece of the puzzle when you’re interviewing for jobs is being able to demonstrate that you can read and write effectively. Only 16% of college graduates have excellent writing skills. Be a part of the 16% and major in history at Malone University.

Dead President’s Society (History Club)

Engage with interesting people, both dead and alive. Membership is available to all integrated social studies, political science and history majors. Activities are open to the Malone community and include events like election watch parties, movie nights, and engaging campus speakers.
