Do you want to help the Church answer its call to worship in the twenty-first century? Malone’s Worship Arts program will prepare you to meet the needs of any church setting by giving you a solid foundation in biblical studies and Christian theology, as well as classical music and contemporary worship styles.

More importantly, it will inspire you towards gratitude for God’s goodness in your own worship of Him.

This program will prepare you for vocational music ministry by giving you in-demand worship leadership skills that today’s churches need. You’ll explore a variety of ministry contexts and prepare for graduate studies if you so choose.

Malone’s worship arts program focuses on four key components: theology, music, leadership, and technology. Our students don’t just learn about ministry – they are actively engaged in it! Hands-on experiences in each of these focus areas prepare graduating seniors to step into a position on Day One.

  • Internships connect you with professionals currently serving in worship ministry
  • Learn as you serve in church and non-profit settings
  • Study with professors who have real world experience.

Jobs and career paths with a worship arts degree

Students enrolled in Malone’s worship arts program experience a combination of theological, musical, and practical skills through internships that prepare them for roles such as:

  • Music Minister
  • Creative Arts Director
  • Worship Pastor
  • High School Worship Teacher
  • Worship Leader
“I chose the Worship Arts program because I believe that worship music can create an atmosphere of praise and worship to God, and I have always loved music. I want to learn how to lead worship and how to praise God with all of the gifts that He has given me. I have loved being a part of the worship team! These people are wonderful friends and influences, and I enjoy worshiping the Lord with friends!”
“I enrolled in the worship arts program because I was already working on my ministry degree and my original plan was to be a worship pastor. Then this new program launched and I was reminded that God knows what He’s doing! He gave me a strong call to add the worship arts major to my plan of study.”

Program Distinctives / Hand-on opportunities

With a foundation in theology and music, you’ll be prepared to serve in a variety of contexts and settings, often within the same church.

Because you’ll grow to understand the history of church music and worship, your Malone degree will not be outdated when styles of music change.

Your classical training and experience with performing in a variety of styles will give you the skills you’ll need to be able to adapt.

Worship Arts Internship
Opportunities

All students in the worship arts program are required to earn internship credit. This connects them with various types of ministry and service projects, as well as practitioners in the field.

To accomplish this, Malone partners with local churches to provide weekend and summer internship opportunities in a variety of settings.

Faith Integration

The worship arts program will prepare you to serve Christ’s kingdom by ministering to others through music. This program will be prepared to walk alongside others in their faith journeys in both church and parachurch settings. To lay a foundation for that work, outside your class content, you’ll spend time praying together – for the churches you’ll be serving and for the people that you’ll meet.
