Master of Business Administration
Our comprehensive MBA is designed to help business leaders like you advance your career in as little as 12 months. Choose from the following concentrations and customize your skills to help you stand out in the industry of your choice: Business and data analytics, philanthropy and human resource development, or social enterprise, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Counseling – Clinical Mental Health/School Counseling
Continue your journey of compassion, growth, and service with a masters in clinical mental health counseling or school counseling — fully online! Our CACREP-accredited program will prepare you to exceed the rigorous standards recognized by employers nationwide.
Master of Science in Nursing
Our fully online MSN program not only propels your career to new heights but also fits seamlessly into your dynamic, busy life. Designed for swift and comprehensive growth, this program can be completed online full-time in 24 months, or pace it out part-time over 36 months.
Computer Science Endorsement
This fully online computer science endorsement can be added to any existing Ohio teaching license so that you’ll be equipped with in-depth knowledge for a rapidly evolving, technology-driven job market. The program is a cohort-based structure and can be completed in just one year, with courses offered in dynamic seven week sessions.
Gifted Endorsement for Educators
Use your current classroom students for practicum objectives as you gain the expertise needed to identify gifted learners! Formatted in the cohort model, this fully online program can be completed within one year. Courses are eight weeks in duration.

Application Process and Deadlines
Malone University practices rolling admissions, reviewing applications as they arrive and making decisions continuously. Deadlines ensure you have ample time to apply before the next start date. If you miss a deadline, contact admissions for options. To meet a deadline, all required materials—such as transcripts, recommendations, and resumes—must be submitted. Things to also consider when applying include:
Malone Financial Aid Survey: Complete this application to access graduate student financial support.
Employer Tuition Reimbursement: If your employer offers tuition assistance, submit the required documentation to reduce costs.
FAFSA: Apply for federal aid using our Title IV school code: 003072—essential for securing financial assistance.

Admission Requirements
Hold a Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Conditional Admission
Applicants who hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution with a cumulative GPA between 2.5 and 3.0 may be considered for Conditional Admission. Evidence must be provided that the applicant has the potential to be successful in the M.B.A. program. Contact the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies to discuss the review process. Students admitted conditionally through this procedure will be granted Regular Admission upon completion of 12 semester hours with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Applicants who do not hold the baccalaureate degree, but who are within 15 hours of graduating from an undergraduate program at Malone University, may be considered for Conditional Admission by meeting the conditions as specified in the Non-Degree Classifications section (found under Introduction and Enrollment Procedures: Admissions to Graduate Studies) of this Graduate Catalog. Students admitted conditionally through this procedure will be granted Regular Admission upon completion of 12 semester hours of MBA courses (undergraduate or graduate credit) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and successful completion of the baccalaureate program at Malone University.
Nursing MSN Application Requirements
How to Apply
- Complete the graduate application.
- Submit a personal resume.
- Submit two references.
- Have official transcripts sent to Malone’s Graduate and Professional Studies Office.
- Participate in a virtual faculty interview arranged by admissions
*One of the two references being submitted must be from a supervisor at your place of employment.
Admission Requirements
Including but not limited to the following:
- Hold a current Ohio RN License.
- Hold a Baccalaureate degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution and accredited nursing program that includes a basic statistics course.
- Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher.
- Report current and relevant nursing employment.
- Two letters of recommendation from professional and supervisory individuals.
- Satisfactorily complete the interview process.
*This program is available to domestic students only.
Conditional Admission
Successfully earn a 3.00 g.p.a. or higher by the end of semester two of the program.
Meet all admission standards except a c.g.p.a. between 2.5 and 3.0.

Admission Requirements
- Hold a Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum cumulative g.p.a. of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Complete the counseling application and related supplement.
- As a part of the application process, applicants are required to attend an online group interview with program faculty. The purpose of the interview is to determine if the applicant evidences a readiness for graduate study and possesses the attributes that will contribute to the successful completion of the degree program and eventual professional/clinical licensure.
Conditional Admission
An applicant who holds a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution with a cumulative g.p.a. between 2.75 and 3.0 may be considered for Conditional Admission. Evidence must be provided that the applicant has the potential to be successful in the counseling program. Contact the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies to discuss the review process. Students admitted conditionally through this procedure will be granted Regular Admission upon completion of 12 semester hours with a minimum g.p.a. of 3.0.

If an Ohio resident: must hold a current teaching license in Ohio. Please provide your license number.
If a non-Ohio resident: must hold a comparable teaching license in your state of residence. Please provide a photo or electronic copy of your state license.

Navigating Financial Aid
Embarking on graduate studies is a significant step forward in your career. At Malone University, we’re committed to supporting your aspirations through accessible financial aid options.
To ensure a smooth transition into your program, we recommend completing the FAFSA (the Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at least six weeks before your semester begins. This is your key to accessing federal loan funding. Using our Title IV (Federal) school code (003072) will ensure that your data is delivered to Malone so we can make the process as seamless for you as possible.
Types of Financial Aid
Your financial aid package might consist of a variety of resources to help you finance your college education. There are three basic categories of financial aid.
Choose Ohio First
Programs that are eligible for support include:
- Clinical Mental Health Counseling
- Graduate Certificate in Nursing Education
- Family Nurse Practitioner Post-Master’s Certificate
- Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse, Post-Master’s Certificate
Criteria for graduate students
- Must be newly enrolled in one of the programs listed above for Fall 2026
- Must be Ohio resident
- Must complete the FAFSA
- Must meet graduate program admission requirements including a faculty interview
- Must fill out the Choose Ohio First Form
Awarding
- June 1, 2026 priority deadline for Admissions and Grant application to be considered
- June 15, 2026 initial awarding period to begin through August 15th
- Malone will consider financial need, essay responses, prior academic achievement, and graduate program availability in selecting award recipients
- Students are eligible for awards between $1,500-$8,000 with typical awards below $2,000
Renewable?
Yes, this award is renewable as long as the student maintains a 3.0 institutional GPA and continues within their appropriate graduate program.
Students who wish to renew their awards in subsequent years will be selected based on their continued academic progress, determined by a minimum GPA and earned credit hours per semester, as well as student need. Awards are contingent upon fund availability through the Ohio General Assembly.

Frequent Questions About Graduate Admissions and Aid
How do I access my online courses?
You will use a learning management system called Moodle for your online coursework. To access your courses, please log in to Moodle. Using your Malone login credentials, enter your username and password at the top of the page.
How can I be successful as a Malone online student?
Here are a few tips on how to make the most of your online experience:
- Be self-motivated and self-disciplined. With the freedom and flexibility of the online environment comes responsibility. The online process takes a real commitment and discipline to keep up with the course material.
- Be able to commit the same amount of time to an online course as you would a traditional course. Online courses are not easier than traditional courses.
- Be willing to share your experiences with others. Many of the online activities you will engage in will require you to integrate course material and your life experiences.
- Be willing to engage in meaningful and quality discussion. Discussion is an essential component of the online learning environment. The testing and challenging of ideas is encouraged; you will not always be right, just be prepared to accept a challenge.
- Be prepared to communicate through writing. Virtually all of the communication that you will engage in will require you to express yourself in writing.
- The online learning process is accelerated and requires commitment on the student’s part. Staying up with the class and completing all work on time is vital. Once a student gets behind, it is almost impossible to catch up. Essentially, the student needs to want to be there, and needs to want the experience.
- Commit to staying in communication with an online advisor who can help you navigate your experience as an online student.
Can I transfer credits?
Yes. The number of credits you can transfer differs by program. Please check the page for the program you plan on applying to for specific details.
How do I communicate with my adviser, instructor, and classmates?
Malone Online emphasizes communication between students, their peers, and their instructors. Communication is facilitated by online discussions, email, online chat rooms, and whiteboards. These tools allow students to communicate with their professors, work on group projects, view documents, and collaborate.
What are the expectations of an online student?
The same course demands and academic standards required in a classroom apply to online courses. Just as in a traditional classroom, students are provided with a course syllabus that outlines a schedule of study and deadlines for assignments.
Is financial aid available?
Yes. Financial aid is largely contingent on filling out a FAFSA. For more information, please visit our financial aid page.
How do I apply to Malone?
Applying to Malone is easy. You’ll need to fill out an application, submit official transcripts, and check the program you plan to apply for specific application requirements.
How do I register for a course?
Registration can be completed through MaloneXpress. New students should contact their admissions counselor for assistance, and current students should contact their adviser.
How do I use Moodle?
We have created an orientation course to take before you begin your academic program. You may start this course at any time by logging into Moodle. Once you access your personal account, you will see a term name highlighted in gray called “Special Courses.” Under this term, you will see the “Next Student Orientation Tutorial.” Click on the blue link to enter the course.
Do I have to log onto the online learning system at a specific time?
Malone’s online courses are designed with flexibility in mind. You are not required to be online at a specific time of day. However, all online courses require that work be completed within a particular time frame. It is recommended that you access your course daily to engage with the learning material, participate in online discussions, and complete assignments and exams.
How long will it take for me to complete my program?
Earning your degree online means you can choose the completion time that’s right for you. The time it takes to graduate depends largely on program requirements, transfer credits, and your level of commitment as a part-time or full-time student.
When will I be able to access my courses?
Courses are available one week prior to the start date. This allows students an opportunity to review the syllabus and plan their term.
