About Alicia Melnick

Alicia Melnick has more than 15 years of professional experience spanning higher education, healthcare, behavioral health, and community-based practice. Prior to Malone, she provided leadership for field education programs, supervised student learning in practicum settings, developed community partnerships, and supported competency-based educational initiatives at the University of Pittsburgh. She also brings extensive clinical and administrative experience from healthcare settings, including leadership roles in hospital social work and psychiatric services.

Dr. Melnick's work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented nationally through the Council on Social Work Education, the Society for Social Work and Research, and the National Association of Social Workers. In addition to her faculty role, she serves on the Council on Social Work Education's Council on Disability and Persons with Disabilities and remains actively engaged in advancing excellence, accessibility, and innovation in social work education.
