About Auderta Amoako-Nuamah
Auderta Amoako-Nuamah's research and teaching is focused on applied econometrics, health economics, labor economics, and consumer behavior, applying quantitative and econometric methods to questions with important implications for households and public policy. She is currently examining consumer price index bias and the cost of living among older Americans, as well as the relationship between maternal employment and childhood health outcomes. She is committed to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment in which students can connect economic and quantitative concepts to real-world issues. Her teaching approach emphasizes active learning, relevance and clarity. Recently, she received the Best Student Teacher Award from the West Virginia University Department of Economics for the 2025–2026 academic year. Outside of work, she enjoys music, playing table tennis, and spending time with her family.
