Counseling Center
The mission of Malone University’s Counseling Services is to support the well-being of our students by providing Christ-centered, compassionate care that enhances their mental and emotional health, their academic and vocational growth, and their spiritual development.
Malone University Counseling Services – Overview
Directed and supervised by a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Malone University’s Counseling Center offers counseling services to both undergraduate students and graduate students. These counseling sessions can help support current students’ mental, emotional, academic, vocational, and spiritual health throughout their college journey.
Students can attend counseling sessions in Regula Hall 301. Students have the option of selecting either in-person (on-campus) sessions or virtual (telehealth) sessions, which use a HIPAA-compliant, confidential online platform.
Current Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students can select from two options for receiving counseling services at Malone University.
Option #1: Undergraduate students can receive free, confidential counseling sessions either on campus in Regula Hall 301 or through telehealth sessions. Counselor Trainees, who are graduate counseling interns, will provide these counseling sessions. These interns are supervised by Dr. Kara Kaelber, a Supervising Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
Option #2: Undergraduate students can receive counseling services through the mental health agency, HWS Best Health Counseling & Psychiatry. They will have Licensed Professional Counselors and a Licensed Independent Social Worker providing both counseling services on campus in Regula Hall 301 and through telehealth. These counseling sessions are not free and must be paid through insurance or through Medicaid.
Current Graduate Students
Graduate students can also receive counseling services through the mental health agency, HWS Best Health Counseling & Psychiatry. They can either have on-campus sessions or telehealth sessions (if they are in Ohio). Again, these counseling sessions are not free and individuals must either pay through their insurance company or through Medicaid, as applicable.

Appropriate attire for the Wellness Center
- Workout shoes: no flip-flops, sandals, or boots. Shoes that do not cover the forefoot do not protect the entire foot from injury, and should not be worn in the gym. Boots can be damaging to equipment.
- Full-length shirt: the shirt should cover the full torso (chest and back, with no skin showing above bottoms. This policy is in place to protect against the transmission of viruses and infections.
- Work out bottoms: pants or shorts with belts, studs, rivets, or zippers are not permitted because they can tear the vinyl of workout pads and benches, causing germs and bacteria to grow within the padding and posing risk to gym members. Shorts cannot expose the buttocks.
- Attire should be modest and aligned with the Malone University community agreement. Patrons who are not dressed according to these standards will be asked to change before returning to work out.
