Malone University may award course credit for Advanced Placement Exams (AP Exams) and for College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams developed by the College Board. Credit awarded is based on the student meeting or exceeding a minimum score as established by departmental policy. Credit is placed on the student’s academic record by the Registrar upon receipt of official verification of test results from the College Board.
Is there placement testing available to test-out of specific courses?
ACCUPLACER is an untimed computer-based test used for:
- Admission of non-traditional students to Malone University
- Placement of accepted students into English and mathematics courses.
ACCUPLACER is NOT a pass or fail test. Rather, it is used as a tool to help decide the most appropriate course placement in English and mathematics.
Math and English class placement is generally determined by the ACT and/or SAT score in both subjects.
If you are placed into ENG 120 “Elements of English” and/or MATH 125 “Introductory Algebra” and would like to test out of those, you have the opportunity to take the ACCUPLACER. Taking this test could help you test out of either one or both of those courses.
The applicable testing fee of $25 is payable in cash only.
Please note: ACCUPLACER must be taken BEFORE classes begin.
