Malone University President David King has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Ohio (AICUO).

The AICUO represents 51 member institutions in Ohio to lawmakers, regulators, and citizens. The organization was formed in 1969 and seeks to bring about a greater understanding of the benefits and contributions of Ohio independent colleges and universities.

King’s appointment is effective Oct. 11 at the AICUO Fall Board Meeting. He will serve a two-year term.

“David is an outstanding addition to our executive committee,” said AICUO President C. Todd Jones. “He has helped numerous elected officials understand the important role that independent colleges like Malone play in our state’s higher education system and has actively supported the association during his years as president.”

“I’m honored to be asked to serve and eager to contribute to the good work of the AICUO,” said King. “Our higher education system is one of the state’s best assets. We need to be relentless in our efforts to ensure that all of our citizens benefit from the opportunities afforded to them by our state’s higher education system. Our colleges and universities are also economic engines, resources for the business community, and shape life and work in many communities throughout the state.”
