Non-Federal Work Study Opportunities

If you do not qualify for Federal Work Study, or you applied too late (after March 1) to receive it in your financial aid award letter, you may seek employment from the following sources:

  • Our dining hall (operated by AVI Foodsystem Inc., and therefore considered an "off-campus" employer) AVI hires Malone students to work in the cafeteria, in two on-campus cafes and to assist with banquets. Contact Lori Spaulding at 330-388-8358. You may apply in person by going to the cafeteria and asking for an application

  • Employment/internship positions: both short-term and long-term part-time jobs in the nearby community can be found at will need to create an account with Pathway U. Contact Jason Moyer at 330-471-8456 or for more information.

  • Try using the reputable site to look for babysitting or tutoring opportunities.

  • There are numerous fast food restaurants and fine dining restaurants or retail shops near campus that offer employment opportunities for students.

  • If you have a car, you will be able to drive to numerous places of business in both the Belden Village Mall and The Strip in North Canton areas such as Bed, Bath & Beyond, Aeropostale, Lowes, Starbucks, Old Navy, Hot Topic, etc for possible employment.

Position: Office Assistant

The donor engagement position is a fun and exciting way for Malone students to interact with alumni and friends of the University. It involves cultivating, and stewarding donors and calling to increase participation and giving levels of Malone alumni and friends to The Malone Fund campaign along with keeping accurate donor records and notes. This position will enhance student’ communication skills and provide excellent experience for their resumes. Will require ability to work some evenings and weekends (with advanced notice) / Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
