Biography
Dr. Andre Payne began his career in marketing and sales management where he received a number of awards before transitioning into higher education. Since then he has been able to acquire a unique combination of leadership experience within Christian higher education, which includes admissions, academic advising, marketing, fundraising, teaching, and instructional design.

Prior to serving as Chair of the Department of Business and Technology at Malone University, he served as the Assistant Professor of Marketing at Indiana Wesleyan University, overseeing the program from 2017-2022. During that time, he was able to increase program enrollment significantly during his tenure, establishing the marketing major as the largest program in the division. During his time at Indiana Wesleyan University, Dr. Payne also earned his Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from the institution.

Since transitioning into higher education in 2010, Dr. Payne has been committed to ensuring faculty and students understand how the holistic approach to learning (focusing on personal, professional, and spiritual growth) can help them achieve in every field of human endeavor. It is this desire that has brought him into a career in Christian higher education. In addition to his career pursuits, Dr. Payne was also an active community member in the Grant County area, where he previously lived, through various community service endeavors. He sat on the Board of the Community Foundation of Grant County, the Boys and Girls Club of Grant County, and he was an Executive Board member of the NAACP Grant County chapter.

Though God has blessed him with many experiences, Dr. Payne considers his family to be his greatest achievement; a family that includes his wife (Eleese), his two daughters (Nevaeh and Analise), and dog (Prince). In their spare time, they enjoy playing board games with each other, visiting new restaurants, watching movies, reading, exercising, traveling, engaging in community service, and committing their lives to serving God’s Kingdom.
