Eric J. Lund, founder of Houston-based MedSource and Chief Executive Officer of Tidewater Ventures, LLC, will deliver Malone University’s 132nd Commencement address on Saturday, May 4 at the Johnson Center for Worship & the Fine Arts. Lund is a 1991 graduate of Malone.

A native of Boardman, Lund received bachelor of arts degrees from Malone in business and biology. In 1997, he founded MedSource, a full-service clinical research organization (CRO), and served as their president for 24 years before selling it to a European company that was looking for an entry point into the U.S. market.  He has more than 30 years of experience in the drug development industry.

Under his leadership and direction, MedSource grew into an award-winning global research organization known for its oncology expertise. They were recognized several times by INC Magazine’s INC 500/5000 (7x) and the Houston Fast 100 (6x) as one of the fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States. MedSource was also added to the INC Hall of Fame.

Since selling MedSource, Lund founded Tidewater Ventures – a real estate holdings company— and is the chairman of the Lund Family Foundation. He also currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Malone Board of Trustees.

“Eric is a gifted communicator with tremendous insights into leadership and leadership development,” said Gregory J. Miller, Ph.D., president. “He has an amazing personal testimony of God’s grace through good times and difficult ones, and brings deep wisdom derived from a long walk with the Lord. He is a tremendous exemplar of what a Malone University alumnus can accomplish, and will be an inspiration to our graduates and our entire community. “

Lund has been married to his wife, Vanessa, for 33 years and they have three adult sons. The family currently resides in Texas.
