The Literacy Celebration event is set to take place Saturday, April 13, 2024 in Silk Auditorium.

Malone University’s Center for Professional Development will host educator, librarian, and dynamic speaker John Schu as guest presenter for the University’s 18th annual Literacy Celebration on Saturday, April 13, from 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. in Silk Auditorium, located in Mitchell Hall.

Schu’s enthusiasm for literacy is contagious. He has been featured on the CBS Morning Show and is a true story ambassador. Educators, librarians, and lovers of literacy who attend will catch John's contagious passion for literacy and spread it to the students they serve. John loves to give away books during his presentation, including his most recent release Louder Than Hunger, his first middle- grade book. He also shares books by other authors that inspire and ignite a love for reading.

The cost of this event is $75, which includes a continental breakfast, lunch, and materials. Optional 1-hour graduate credit with post presentation assignment is available for an additional $195. Books will also be available for additional purchase. The event is open to educators of all grade levels, librarians, school heads, and book lovers galore!
