Mark your calendar: Inauguration

An exciting variety of events are planned to celebrate of the inauguration of Gregory J. Miller, Ph.D. as the 14th president of Malone University.

Highlights include:

Thursday, October 13

  • A breakfast for pastors and their spouses at 9 a.m. in the Johnson Center Dining Room.

Friday, Oct. 14

  • Celebratory lunch in the Hoover Dining Commons from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., free of charge for faculty and staff. Please RSVP by September 30 to be included in the headcount. 
  • Installation ceremony at 2 p.m. in the Johnson Center Worship Center. 
  • Inaugural reception at 4 p.m. in the lobby of the Johnson Center.
  • Inaugural gala at 8 p.m. in the VIP Club of the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. Open to faculty, staff, students, alumni, and invited guests. There is no cost for admission, but please RSVP to be included in the headcount.  

Saturday, Oct. 15

  • Inaugural concert at 8 p.m. in the Johnson Center Worship Center featuring Gable Price & Friends. Members of the Malone community will receive free admission. Please RSVP to secure your seat. All others can purchase tickets for $10 per person.

Inauguration contests

Help the Malone University community celebrate the installation of Dr. Miller by participating in two contests sponsored by the Inauguration Committee. Each features a cash prize of $250 and recognition during the weekend of the Inauguration.

“MALONE THROUGH MY EYES” PHOTO CONTEST

Submit a digital photo which you believe captures the essence and special character of the Malone experience. Include a statement -- of no more than 25 words -- with your photo which explains how the photograph represents your memories and connection with Malone. All appropriate submissions will be published on the inauguration website. Members of the Inauguration Committee will review the submissions and select one person to win the prize.

SHORT ESSAY CONTEST

Submit an essay, of no more than 750 words, which seeks to describe the impact Malone University has had on your life. In this short essay, explain what your Malone experience has meant to you. Be creative. Be heartfelt. Share how Malone has helped shape you into the person you are today. All appropriate submissions will be published on the inauguration website.  Members of the Inauguration Committee will review the submissions and select one person to win the prize.
